Wesly Gibs has been working as a graphic visual designer and illustrator since 1998. Starting as a junior visualiser at Roughmen Visualisers he soon joined the advertising agency Bridge/ADMP (which later became part of the TBWA group) and collaborated on the creation of numerous advertising campaigns and commercials. His artwork during this period can be considered to be a mixture of traditional marker techniques combined with various digital elements. Since 2001 Wesly has been working for his own company "Draw the Line" with the objective to act as a platform where customer demand for variety in illustrative projects is satisfied by the wide range of styles and techniques.

By using powerful contrasting colours, different outlines, rotation from deep perspective to strong foreground scenes and dark compact areas to outline central figureheads, he tries to create an atmosphere, a state of mind which enables him to translate the illustration's message to a wide audience.

"It's the search for diversity which can be tough. I constantly have to tackle the difficult search for variation but it can also be very inspiring. It forces me to think in contrasts and to pioneer into the unchartered part of illustration. It's this search which causes me to draw that line differently, over and over again without distancing myself from my philosophy.
Continuity through diversity."
